AAUK Independent Trustee Vacancy
Air Ambulances UK is the national charity championing and supporting the lifesaving work of the UK’s 21 air ambulance charities. We have five main goals:-

- Achieving Organisational Excellence
The charity is led by our CEO, Simmy Akhtar, and a small staff team who all work from home. Our high performing Board consists of five independent Trustees and four member elected Trustees who represent air ambulance charities from across the UK. Board meetings usually take place four to six times a year, with a mixture of virtual and in person meetings. Up to three in person and up to three via Zoom. The in-person meetings take place at various Air Ambulance airbases across the country. All meetings take place during the working week.
This young charity has been through a forming stage over the last three years in the face of a pandemic, we are now looking forward to building on our achievements and are preparing for an exciting future. This is an excellent time to be joining us as we continue to progress our five-year strategic plan.
For the Independent Trustee vacancy, we are looking to appoint a Trustee with a strong financial background who can use their expertise and experience to ensure our Board maintains financial vigour. This vacancy has arisen as our current Financial Trustee has reached the end of their term. We welcome applications from people who are not well represented at Board level, and although this role is not remunerated we pay all relevant and reasonable expenses associated with being a Trustee.
