Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance Seeks Operations Manager

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance is a registered Charity, who, since 2000 have flown thousands of missions, delivering first class emergency care to people across the region.  Their belief is that patients’ lives depend on us being there and the whole team is focused on making that happen. They are now seeking to appoint an Operations Manager to join their highly committed and established team at their airbase in Henstridge, Somerset, ensuring that the Air Ambulance in Dorset and Somerset is available for 19 hours a day – every day of the year. This new post has been created to cover the ever expanding and complex needs of their daily operations and to strengthen their existing leadership team.

This is non patient facing but key role, with the responsibility for the day-to-day management of the critical care medical service provision. They are looking for a dedicated individual to work closely with their Medical Lead and reporting to their CEO to deliver clinical governance and high-quality patient care, public and patient experience. You will be the primary contact and operational interface with South Western Ambulance Service (SWASFT), providers of clinical governance for their service.

In addition, the role will require the management of ground operations to ensure safety and efficiency at all times, working alongside key stakeholders within aviation and all relevant ground activities.  You will be required to provide on call support respond effectively to emerging needs with a flexible approach in line with the changing nature of the role.
