Terms and Conditions(Required) Terms and conditions for participation in the London Marathon 2026 as a fundraiser for Air Ambulances UK.
Please be aware that you must agree to these terms before commencing fundraising activities for Air Ambulances UK. By signing up to take part in a challenge, you agree to comply with these terms and conditions.
The event
The event is not organised by Air Ambulances UK but by London Marathon Events. Participation in the event as an Air Ambulances UK participant is subject to the below terms and conditions in addition to the event organiser’s own terms and conditions, which must be fully complied with at all times.
Participation
All participants must be over the age of 18 on the day of the event (26th April 2026).
We ask that you pay a non-refundable registration fee to Air Ambulances UK once your application is accepted. This registration fee is £100 and is required to secure your place. Air Ambulances UK will invoice you via email and payment is made via BACS transfer. You will have ten days to complete your registration, and once paid, your place will be secured on our team.
If you miss the ten-day payment deadline, your place will be released and offered to someone else. If you'd like to speak to someone from the team, please contact info@airambulancesuk.org
Our twenty available charity places for the TCS London Marathon will be allocated based on completion of a full application. All applicants will be notified of the outcome in September 2025. Successful applicants will receive further instructions at that time.
For those not selected, we encourage you to stay connected with our fundraising team. We have charity places available for the TCS London Marathon until 2029, and welcome future applications.
Registration and fundraising
All fundraising activity undertaken as part of the event must be for the benefit of Air Ambulances UK only and must not be given to or shared with any other organisation.
Sponsor forms can be provided to the participant upon request, and an online fundraising page is automatically created on Enthuse during final registration. Enthuse is the official fundraising platform partner of TCS London Marathon 2026.
You are expected to raise a minimum of £2500 in sponsorship (excluding Gift Aid). If you do not reach this target, you will be expected to contribute £400 to cover the cost of your place. Please note that any matched funding must be in addition to the £2500 target and will not count towards it.
We ask that you collect all sponsorship monies promptly and pay them to us by 7th June 2026. Details of how to pay in any monies will be provided by your contact at Air Ambulances UK on request. All money donated via your online fundraising page will automatically be transferred to Air Ambulances UK and does not need to be sent separately.
You understand and agree that as your fundraising is ‘in aid of’ Air Ambulances UK and is undertaken independently of the charity, Air Ambulances UK will not accept any responsibility or liability for your fundraising events or activity.
You are fully responsible for the fundraising activity, and it is your responsibility to organise all aspects of it. You are also responsible for any costs, expenses or taxes incurred or arising in connection with your fundraising activity.
Whilst fundraising on behalf of Air Ambulances UK and participating in the event, you will be acting as an ambassador of Air Ambulances UK (especially if wearing Air Ambulances UK branded clothing). We therefore ask that you conduct yourself accordingly.
Participants accepted for a charity place will be required to wear our official Air Ambulances UK running vest during the London Marathon, which will be provided free of charge.
Safety, fitness and injury
Before registering for this event, please make sure you feel able to take part health-wise; we recommend checking in with a doctor if you're not certain.
Please note under the conditions of entry you warrant to the organisers that you are sufficiently fit and healthy to participate in the event unaided.
All Air Ambulances UK participants take part in the event at their own risk.
All participants agree that, as far as they are aware, they are sufficiently fit and physically able to compete in the event and, if necessary, have sought and relied upon medical advice before the event date. It is the participant’s own responsibility to assess their fitness and to ensure that they participate only if sufficiently fit.
Participants with any doubts about their health or a medical condition that could be affected by exercise should obtain their doctor’s approval before participating.
Please be sure to read carefully any terms and conditions issued by the event organisers and make sure to abide by all the advice and regulations to ensure you enjoy a safe and fun event. Please note that if you do not obey the terms of entry set by the organisers or follow their instructions on the day, you can be ejected from the event, and we accept no liability if that occurs.
Cancellation and changes to the event
You agree that should the event organiser cancel or postpone the event, their terms and conditions will apply.
Air Ambulances UK will endeavour to communicate any changes to you as soon as possible.
Should the event be cancelled through no fault of the participant, Air Ambulances UK will offer a full refund of the registration fee and the return of any sponsorship funds.
Refund requests must be made in writing and will be refunded by Air Ambulances UK via the original payment method.
Air Ambulances UK is not responsible for any additional costs relating to your charity place, including (but not limited to) accommodation, travel or sustenance.
Participants are strictly prohibited from swapping, selling or transferring their place in the event, or allowing any other person to participate in their place.
Deferrals
If you unfortunately can no longer take part in the event, please get in touch with us as soon as possible.
If the event organiser's policy allows, you can roll your event place over to the same event the following year, depending if they have spaces.
You can only rollover/defer your place once.
Any money you may have raised can also be rolled over to count for your fundraising total next time, and depending on when you defer, you will need to pay a registration fee for the next year's event on top of that.
Images and consent
You must obtain approval from Air Ambulances UK before approaching the media or celebrities to support your fundraising for the event.
At events, Air Ambulances UK may take photographs and/or videos of participants. You agree that we can use any photographs, videos, and other content taken at the event in which you or your friends and family appear on our social media channels and/or for Air Ambulances UK marketing materials, advertising and publications.
