Restart a Heart Day – Learn to be a Lifesaver

Restart A Heart Day 2020

More than 30,000 people go into cardiac arrests outside of hospital in the UK every year. The chances of surviving a cardiac arrest drop 10 per cent a minute if CPR is not started, and survival rates are currently less than one in 10 people in this country. Last year, more than 200,000 children and young people across the country learnt cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on Restart a Heart Day.

Restart a Heart Day

Today marks Restart a Heart Day, an annual worldwide event to teach as many people as possible the lifesaving skill of CPR. Organisations all over the world will be coming together to support this important day. At the East Anglian Air Ambulance cardiac arrests account for over a quarter of the jobs they attend. Their mission is simple - they want to save more lives by minimising the impact of trauma and medical emergencies.
