I am reaching out to you as a constituent, urging your support for the Air Ambulances All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPGAA). The APPGAA aims to raise the quality of care and effectiveness of air ambulance charities for patients through engagement with political leaders and policy makers on key issues that relate to improvements in the delivery of air ambulance charities lifesaving services.

Air Ambulances UK (AAUK) is the national charity supporting the lifesaving work of the UK’s air ambulance charities, enabling them to save even more lives every day. As the national charity they distribute funding to support the UK’s 21 local air ambulance charities, raise vital awareness, represent the sector nationally through key stakeholder engagement and advocate and influence on key policy issues as well as encouraging the exchange of information and knowledge across the sector.

Air ambulance crews bring the Emergency Department to patients who have suffered a life threatening or life changing trauma or medical emergency; providing advanced critical care to save lives.

On average an air ambulance can reach someone in urgent need within 16 minutes. Anyone, anywhere in the UK can become a patient at any time. Air ambulance charities are collectively dispatched to over 107 lifesaving missions each day across the UK; each mission is funded almost entirely by the generosity of local communities.
