Phillip Gerrish is Sterling’s Marketing Services Manager, and one of our leading lottery experts. 

Over the past decade he has earned endorsement from all types of clients including large national names and small local charities through helping them unlock the power of prize-led fundraising. 

Whether we’re looking at a new lottery launch or an existing program in need of a refresh, Phil applies his expertise and Sterling’s services to create a bespoke lottery or raffle solution for each organisation. He consults on the optimisation of all marketing channels, extending beyond player acquisition to include retention and development, with new strategies across engagement, digital utilisation, gamification, and Sterling’s online player account system. Phil loves to see a client’s program flourish! 

Launching Sterling’s ‘Lottery Lab’ this year, Phil and his team are increasing Sterling’s value in the sector by delivering strategic guidance to charities through sharing client success stories and actionable insights.

The talk will be case study led featuring charities that are part of the Give A Little community such as Cancer Research UK, East Anglian Air Ambulance, War Child and London Zoo. They will share insights and tips on how to get the most out of your cashless fundraising journey and there will be an opportunity to get hands on with a range of contactless donation boxes and devices.

Peter is Corporate Director at Remarkable Partnerships with over 25 years corporate sector experience. 

As an award-winning results-driven corporate and charity specialist with an MA in Corporate Social Responsibility he’s passionate about developing remarkable partnerships. 

Working for companies such as Thomson Reuters, Reed Elsevier and Sony, he’s experienced at developing high revenue, purpose-driven partnerships with major clients such as Google, BBC and KPMG. Peter has also delivered a number of internal innovative initiatives that focused on employee motivation and professional development. Awarded both Thomson Reuters and Sony Salesperson of the Year. 

At Remarkable Partnerships he has successfully developed major strategic corporate and charity partnerships that help both partners deliver their core commercial objectives.

Tabitha’s People

Jamila, Founder

Jamila is the founder of Tabitha’s People supporting small charities on fundraising, and strategy. Leveraging her experience working closely with senior leadership teams and trustees, she is excited to work with charitable organisations across the UK to help them build on their strengths and improve their capabilities in order to become more sustainable. Jamila is passionate about inspiring best practice in the small charity sector. 
As a successful fundraising consultant, she knows how to use the science of raising money from your donors and designs and write donor-centric communications that inspire them to give. 

Public Fundraising

Sarah Goddard

Sarah is a values-driven Public Fundraising specialist with over 17 years fundraising and leadership experience across community, events, individual giving and Stewardship – bringing these areas together as ‘Public Fundraising’.  

Sarah is passionate about the power individuals and communities have in helping charities achieve change. 

As a consultant she specialises in helping fundraisers build relationships with supporters – inspiring supporters to give and fundraise in the ways they choose, to make a difference.  

She has previously headed up several fundraising teams, and went freelance so she could work with even more smaller, medium and local charities, and help upskill new, junior or sole fundraisers to become the next generation working to change the world. 


Joan Lind

After studying in Edinburgh, Joan spent over 20 years in the global advertising industry in London and Sydney.   

She was fortunate enough to work at many award winning ad agencies including AMV BBDO and M&C Saatchi. 

She worked with brands such as BT to BA, Audi to Qantas, Cow & Gate to Prudential, and brings a wealth of experience in generating creative ideas and thinking.  In all her roles she also developed pro bono campaigns for Charities. 

After leaving Sydney to return to the UK, to care for elderly parents, she launched Trybooking in 2014 – an elegant, easy to use and low cost online event booking/ticketing platform used by Charities, as well as Education, Businesses, The Arts, Government and many other sectors. 

Finally, Joan has been an Entrepreneur in Residence at Lancaster University Management School since 2017.

For 24 years Kitty has had a successful career in fundraising, soliciting, and closing donations worth millions of pounds for charitable causes.

Her experience includes managing relationships with Philanthropists around the world from Canada and the US to Thailand, Singapore, Dubai, Australia, and Indonesia.  She has secured meetings and delivered support from CEOs and Chairs of some of the largest companies worldwide such as Morgan Stanley, Barclays Bank, and Bacardi. Kitty’s warm personality and ability to connect with people has allowed her to build successful working relationships with foreign dignitaries, well-known celebrities, Academy Award winning directors, sports and TV personalities.

Kitty thrives on advising C-suites, Boards and Fundraising teams on how to ensure their organisation is prepared to manage high-level giving programmes.  If the organisation is not ready, she is equipped to advise on the activities needed and able to implement the key components required to deliver targets.  This includes everything from analysing the database to determine the capacity of prospects, to crafting the “ask”, through to follow up once the gift is in place to ensuring the organisation has the tools needed to steward relationships in preparation for the next gift.

Kitty offers advice, guidance, mentoring and training for staff and stakeholders on how to cultivate relationships and build sustainable giving programmes. Interim management roles allow Kitty the opportunity to use her many years of experience to ensure fundraising teams are working at optimal levels upon her departure.

Prior to fundraising, Kitty worked in event management and in client relations for two multi-national investment banks.
